    Texture in Artwork

    Hi All,

I was just wondering how most of you use texture in your artwork? Do you prefer vector textures or go straight to photoshop, or does it not matter either way

    Thanks in advance :)

textures make the artwork looks real. I almost always prefer to make them in Photoshop!

Cheers Daniella, do you not find that more and more packs are coming out for vector textures, there are a few tutorials knocking around for these, but you cant beat a good brush in photoshop :)

I agree! Textures created in Photoshop always look more "real" to me - vectors are a bit too clean for my liking (when it comes to textures I mean!).

I like to work in Illustrator then move over to photoshop to add texture. You can create some good 'grunge' and 'worn' textures in illustrator but I find you can do more with Photoshop

I prefer photoshop as I have a few different methods to add texture. Sometimes I will overlay or multiply a textured image or I will add a layer mask and use a brush.

definitely use textures in photoshop. I feel like its much easier to control with the mask feature and easier to manipulate when needed.
