I have a new HP Deskjet 3510 because my Canon Pixma ip3500 disconnected and then would never power back on. I can already tell it's ink hungry compared to my Canon, but I need quick and cheap...and well...Staples had this .

Epson 7600 for color and Brother 7060D for b/w. Brother is a good choise for Mac users, i think.

    Hey Dudes,

I use the brother hl-4150cdn...such a great printer.

    Hp b8550

As a student, I'm using the HP B8550 which kills it and is definitely on par with any Epson in that price range.

However, I do wish there was an easier way to refill the ink cartridges.

As you have a high throughput, you should definitively invest in a color laser printer. The printers are more expensive but much faster and the printing costs per page are much lower. You also don't have problems with dried ink cartridges... I suggest you to have a look at the weight, too. Color laser printers often are very heavy, but there are variants that only have a weight of ~ 14 to 18 kg (or: 30-40 pounds).
If you need to print t-shirts or other fabrics, you'll probably need a ink printer. Another possibility for high quality prints might be a special photo printer using the thermo transfer method. This is quite expensive, but produces quality like classical photographic film material with high brilliance and color saturation.
