    Nexscan / Primescan users?

Just thought it was about time to introduce myself.
I'm mainly a Primscan user but recently acquired a Nexscan.

I've not been able to perform much testing as it seems to require Newcolor to work. I use Silverfast for my primescan but the serial locks it to that scanner thus no silverfast for Nexscan.

Is the Nexscan anygood? Should I pursue finding modern software? I'm mainly thinking to use it for mounted slides?

Heidelberg machine should use software from heidelberg (Newcolor or lino color) only.

    Hi-End scanners group

Perhaps you should also try at a more specialized group:

    Good luck.

Thanks for the input. I'm really keen to keep on a mac with silverfast (running newcolor on osx 10.2 does not feel like a good long term solution).

I've got newcolor mac & pc with full updates. Plus scanner diagnostic software too. Happy to trade these and finally find a working copy of silverfast for nexscan.

Also have oXYgen 2.6.3 and 2.6.4 if anyones a scitex/creo/kodak user.

Maybe you will need a Ratoc FireWire-UltraSCSI Converter, FR1SX
