Question Maybe a stupid question, finding sizes in .pdf minus bleed.

    Hi,

This is probably a stupid question but I would like to know how to find the document size minus the bleed of a pdf document. If I go to document properties in acrobat pro, it will give me the page size but always adds on the bleed. How do I find the size minus any bleed?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi.
Go to document menu, then Crop Pages. There are 4 item to crop or resize the document: trimbox, cropbox, bleed, art.
You can see by default the complete size, but selecting cropbox shows the crop size (final cut).
    Best Regards.

    Hm, maybe I'm being stupid.

When I click crop nothing happens. I can then highlight an area on the document but no 4 options?

    Thanks

Go to crop document menu (not crop tool). This may change for each versions. Search for this screen (or similar):

It sounds as if your file hasn't been set up with crops and bleed in illustrator or indesign. Therefore cropping to trimbox will still give you the same size as the original.

If you know your final document size take away an even amount on the cropbox section from top, bottom, left & right and you will know how much bleed has been added. Usually it is 3mm on all 4 sides.
