    How to choose majors

When you are going to decide your major that would be an important decision but mind it that it is you that would be interviewed not the degree. The most encouraging thing is to find a major that interests them. If you make a decision on your degree the go for the try and keep try for that. Stick with your choice and do not let other interrupt what you are doing. Enjoy the whole journey by your self.

    Right On!

I totally agree. Your Career path should closely relate to something that is not only emotionally fulfilling but enjoyable as well. If you can pick a major that excites you. Attaining employment in that area of expertise after graduation will feel less like work and more like a reward.

Like you guys were saying, picking a major is really important. Perhaps even as important or more so is to be hungry for opportunity and to work hard. If you're entrepreneurial, willing to take smart risks and look for ways to bring value to others, you'll do fine. Known history majors who came out and started up successful companies doing nothing related to their college majors.

I'd also add that today people want to see what you've shipped, produced, made, etc. Working at a big name can still provide some modicum of social proof, but starting a venture can be way more valuable in today's world. Stay proactive!

I'd have to agree that picking your major is important, however, choosing a major in something that you "absolutely love" may not always be the best idea. Sometimes you may need some to give you swift kick in the rear to knock some sense into you. Besides, challenging yourself in something you do not "absolutely love" may serve better in the long run.
