Thank you for this thread! I've been thinking about switching over to sketch. Now I just may!

I just started using Sketch. Been using Fireworks for webdesign. Hated Photoshop.

My experience with Sketch has been frustrating. Learning curve aside (I think I get the hang of it now), there are way too many bugs. So I find myself figuring out how to deal with the bugs instead of designing. For example, dealing with grid. Sometime the page I duplicate uses my custom grid, sometimes it goes with default grid, and sometimes both grids at the same time. Other simple task such as shift n' drag will snap to wrong alignment. Rotating is another problem. Also exporting to PSD (other people still want those) takes some effort and time (Save each page to pdf, open in illustrator, save each page to PSD, repeat)

Overall this is a great effort by those guys. For the price I can't complain much. But I don't think it's ready for primetime yet.

Are you using Sketch 3? Was wondering if that has the bugs in it or if they were fixed in this new version.

It's been great for non-print design tasks for me! Can't really complain about the stability as the latest versions have been quite reliable on my system.

I found these articles from Meng To to be particularly persuasive when I made the switch:

I love Sketch, I use it for UI design but I still need Illustrator and Corel because I have a lot printing work

I worked with Sketch on an app design project I worked on. I found it to be fast but quirky.

    Sketch is great.
It does everything I need Photoshop for, but does it in a much nicer and unbloated package. It's great for light and quick use... I use it a lot for mockup and preliminaries. I still do a lot of work in PS on larger projects.

Moved to sketch a few weeks ago and never looked back. At first it's a little bit difficult to stop using photoshop shortcuts but after a few production projects i felt comfortable. Artboards are a life saver!

I used illustrator then switched. It takes about a week to not get frustrated by what you expect to work the same, and then you get over it and it ends up being a much much better workflow. That is especially true if you export any final assets to anyone. Exporting in sketch saves days. Literally days over PS or AI
