    Signtronix RIP

I believe onyz is the best RIP available at present. However, there was a Signtronix RIP system some years ago - This was Unix based, very fast, easy to use and the color accuracy second to none.

I believe it was Dutch or Swedish software.

1 Onyx for HP printers. Onyx has excellent color profiles.

2 Roland VersaWorks for Roland printers.

Onyx X10.1 great out of the box colour, X10.1 much faster than X10.

Shiraz for speed and good pdf handling.

im currently onyx 7.3 and caldera 7.25 Personally i think caldera wins hands down in terms of use, functionality and being able to install a key server and have 1 PC per printer is a great too! i have 4 wide format machines and each one has its own rip Pc all sharing the lincense key server. If one rip goes down we can use the other pc's to control 2 machines. unlike onyx as you only get one dongle

I used colorgate before (with a seiko 4500 and 64S) and now onyx (with a seiko colorpainter h104s and a mimaki jv4)

in my opinion onyx is more "solid" in file/color management but lacks something in usability, and still have serious problem with trasparencies

    Red face

For mine HP DJ 500 has found drivers and profiles for Efi ColorProof XF and Onyx. First sweeping and convenient for the same job, second more slowly but it is simple in adjustment of one task.
