yes, sure in indigo pre press, using Yours Trully, but it's a plugin for Quark in Mac. If You use a PC, I;d like to suggest DirectSmile (like above),,, a nice VPD an personalisation.

Post Printshop Pro & Direct Smile

2 fantastic programs which compliment each other. Printshop Pro has all the hardcore features for incorporating databases for VDP including barcodes. DirectSmile is a add on which allows the user to create letters using objects or pics to further enhance the theme of the mail out. Highly recommended!

Of course, Xmpie, or VIPP xerox native program on all their productions machines.
It depends on the controller you have, but have to understand what kind of program you will use to create a variable data. Take in mind that isn't the same program to generate a transactional variable document than a promotional variable document.

    XMPie

XMPie is very good plugin for indesign. It is integrated in indesign with own window. You can impose your VDP card or etc, and cut&stack it.

If you would like to buy it not steal :) you can look at FusionPro. There are VDP (which is text and rules based solution) and Expression (something like DirectSmile but MUCH cheaper... and similar in functionality)

HP INDIGO in the variable data is used in InDesign on a card (HP SmartStream Designer), as if haven't cracked. Now I'm using PrintShop Mail 7.0

we use indesign for the majority since it's free. we also have fusion pro, but that's a pain and is barely used.

    Yes: FreeFlow VIPP Pro Publisher
Its a plugin for indesign. Similiar like Indesign built-in Variable data manager.
W use Indegn built-in. If you dont need complicated and picture contained print use built-in.
Corel can make it too. AND impose it...

You can also use Design Merge, for Quark or Indesign.
