If you do trap in PDF is always a risk and requires additional investigation (Heidelberg Prinect PDF toolbox is no exception).
    Rip do is more accurate.
You can get great results just by making your hands

hi! Here we recieve a lot of different file types from our costumers. We have been using ArtPro from a long time. The conversion issue is overpowered by the quality of the finishing you can have with the trapping feature in ArtPro, wich is one of the best I've ever seen.

About the RIP, we are using Nexus. But I think that Kodad Prinergy will fit to you too.

That's all, good luck on your choice.

Invest on a workflow that can do batch trapping and then refine your traps only as needed.

I think Artpro also OK, they can import PDF, EPS, CAD..if it is bitmap image, you can use Photoshop.
