I have used both Preps and Metrix for a few years now.

Sort of an apples vs oranges thing.

Each one is best utilized for (slightly?) different purposes.

Metrix is much more a job planning/ganging tool best used as early as possible in the production cycle (pre-prepress).

Preps is very powerful layout/imposition tool.

    Agreed.
I tried metrix before. The most impressive is ganging. I just need to fill the required prints and the size of all pages into the software. The software will calculate the most suitable layout(s) for me.

I've been using Preps since the 3.1 version, and i've always appreciated it, but since 2009 i'm using the new Signastation and i have to say that for me is the best, very powerful and fast.
Now i want to study some others software....i will try Metrix, Quite imposition...and others that i have never heard before..just to be complete.

Sorry for my English, i'm from Italy.
