Preps 5.3.3 crashed when printing a PDF file

    Hello everyone,
when I print imposition to a pdf file in Preps 5.3.3, Preps crashed without any error message. I have pdf file version 1.4, created in CS3 by Distiller 8. With this original file from a customer Preps crashed, when I open this file in Acrobat X Pro, and resave it to the same pdf version, Preps not crashed. But original pdf file have not any errors after PitStop preflight, is it standard pdf for print, nothing special. Sorry for my bad English .

Has anyone any opinion about this issue?

    Thank you,
    Viktor

Try to optimize the pdf, pdf error may be although apparently this good. Try the name of the document has no accent or strange symbols because sometimes it fails in the preps.

I suggest you import the file into preps in mixed mode ( not PDF to PDF ) in this case preps will generate it's own PS file. Most of the times it will fix the error and print successfully.

If the file does not contain prohibited characters, or the name is too long, try to create PDF without smart marks, check conflict fonts on your system, create a new job in a new folder, the pdf of the job should not be generated by Adobe Acrobat 9 to 10 otherwise creates ps then refines

questions: preps work pc or mac? you use the PRINERGY or work in local? the pdf of imposition are on the server or local?
