EFI Colorproof XF 4.5.1 & Canon iPF 8300S - GARO error

    Hello!

I just installed and setup my Canon iPF 8300s at EFI Colorproof XF 4.5.1. But when I try to print I always get error on printer LCD - Garo W1226. Then printer just cut around 5 cm of paper and thats all. I tried to print with existing profiles from EFI.

    What should be wrong?

    Thanks for any help.

Can you print a test page? How about printing from Photoshop (or any other application)? Can you change your printers connection (if it is USB to ethernet)?
First thing is to understand where the problem lays : printer driver, XF, or printer.

Yes I can print a test page from driver. Also I can print from Photoshop, Acrobat,..., only from EFI 4.5.1. I can't. I use ethernet connection.

I have Canon iPF 8300s, just for test, I chose Canon iPF 8000s at EFI and if I select profile with 2400x1200 and I can print, but from 600x600 I can't.
Canon iPF 8300s at Efi has only 600x600 and 300x300 profiles.

Seems here will be a catch, but I dont know a solution.

First thing to do is to update XF to the latest version which is 4.5.8.
Another thing to do is download additional profiles (through profile update from EFI Control) and test to see whether it is a bad profile case.

    hope it helps.

I just upgrade my EFI XF, but I can not install profiles for Canon iPF 8300s, because there are no profiles for this model, only 8300, which I already tried and got GARO error.

The 2 models (ipf8300 and 8300s) have different ink sets and this is the reason why you get this error, it is not a surprise or a software bug. Since there are not profiles for your model you can use the RGB profiles that come with your driver. You have to use the RGB Connector to connect the profile with the corresponding media (it is a wizard based procedure). Alternatively, you can create your own profiles if you have a spectro and profiling software.

    Hope it helps
