I'm trying out ColorGate 7 and it's really the best RIP i've ever used, 1 problem though:
I am trying to print with canned (manufacturer's) icc profiles on an Epson 9890 for testing. The thing is that the print is brighter compared to prints from other RIPs (EFI, Onyx) or photoshop cs5.5 using the very same profile.
I did the following: MIM-Administration > created new MIM > for icc output profile I chose my canned icc profile and for linearization profile, I set the linearization file for this paper that came with the ColorGate MIM package for my Epson > double checked if the new MIM and color management settings really apply to my test file before printing > prints come out too flat.
What I noticed though is that the linearization files seem to have no effect what so ever, I made a few test prints with linearization disabled and also with linarization files that are intended for completely different papers from whose I'm using (matte instead of glossy f.e.) and the results are always the same.
Any ideas? thanks.
