    Caldera V9

Any using Caldera V9 as their preferred RIP?

If so, what are your thoughts on it? I've been looking at it since it supports all our printers, where currently we have 3 different rips, for each printer, which is quite annoying, especially when it comes to training new staff!!

My only concern with Caldera is that its either Linus or Mac. Since i don't want to spend ridiculous amounts of my re-kitting the whole office with iMac's that would leave me with the linux version as the only option. Any know how well Linux integrates into a windows based nerk and whether there are any pitfalls like not being able to use pdfs etc..?

    Cheers,
    Kassinopious

    Caldera,best production rip ever

    Hi,

I use to use Caldera 9.10 as favorite rip on Mac and on Linux station (Debian required). It is very integrated in Windows Nerks (supports SMB without issues).
Very easy to have in hand (about 15 days of usage), easy way to profile medias and efficient color managment.
Ask if you need more informations

Caldera 9.10 use for six months. Printer Epson SureColor SC70600-10c. Mac OSX.
Very easy to use and reliable rip. Good profiling system. Using the latest methods of profiling (i1PRISM Xrite). Good support from the manufacturer. I am pleased with this Rip.

    Thumbs up

I use Caldera since 2007 Durst printers and ATP-Color. Its management of profiling is really good.
Now I'm configuring the automated system for creating cutting files for plotters Zund and Esko Kongsberg, directly from the print file.
It is really a good product for those printing at large size.
