Used Preps from v1 up to v5 while working in a book printers.

Can't recall which version first gave us an on screen preview but early versions required you to print the page. then measure it and apply any offset needed.

I no longer work in book printing. The printers I work at now uses illustrator to step and repeat decals out.

Are you happy with Apogee Impose? I use Signastation and trying to go to Apogee Impose and I found many things I can do with Signa and with Apogee not.

I cant believe, for example, you cant print (not even bleed) in the gripper zone.

    Post Signa is complete

Signastation The software is a complete and very advanced compared to other imposition software .
Simple and fast for simple jobs. Extremely accurate and provides full control over the levy in jobs that require greater complexities(margins specials, different page sizes , different types of finishes).
Flyers, books (hardcover, sewing) folders. Materials with special cuts. Wonderful imposition for packaging, including generation of 3D files for approval prior to the generation of physical prototype which greatly reduces the time of approval.

I work almost 20 years in the business graph, do training in pre-press for some time and in my opinion is the best Signa.

Kodak Preps is one of the best imposition software that I've used... version 6.2 is wonderful.

    Best Imposition Software

Preps is a good one if you are only doing flat and book work. It is kind of tricky if you are doing packaging type jobs that have nesting issues. Imposeit Pro is another good one.
