if you want to have advantages from FM but easy and less effort to print , use XM (hybrid screening)

In most cases AM screening is suitable for most works. FM is harder to prepare but works well for very accurate graphics works or while using a lot of spot colors on same sheet.

    The best Results

    Well,
we tried many screens, elipticals, dot, hybrids, taffeta 30, 20 and 10 the finest ,
but the in my opinion every job has its own specifications, the stocastics need changes in your press, taffeta has great midts and an amazing definition, but the Speedmaster only print over the 20um, by accident we discover that the resolution Best for offset printing is not 2.400 Dpi, we change it for 2.438.4 Dpi whit eliptical screening we have amazings results, we do not know the resons, but we used less ink, and the printings looks very well, so cleans, we have XMF full, all screenings resolutions, change the screening is very easy and you can do it in a flight, the fuji tecnicals, calibrate by contract every 3 months all the screenings even the s we do not used,
try 2.438.5 Dpi - 200Lpi and eliptical dot, you will see the diference.
sorry i forgot, we have a Fuji V-8, it may be no posiible this runing over other machines,
    Pab.

Good old fashion elliptical for general offset and 10um Kodak staccato for web presses which seem to provide better overall range of colour.

Personally 99% of clients can't see any diff past 175lpi am or fm.

    We can, cause we look.

Besides its nice to walk out to the presses and go yep that's a 20% cyan dot and 75% mag dot. How many of us can do that confidently with FM screening?

99,9 % we use AM. It´s more stable and productive in reality.
