PDF Colouring displays funny on iphone

Has anyone run into an issue of having their PDF colouring displaying differently/incorrectly on iphone 5?

Anytime I've sent a print-quality PDF to someone to look at, I've had blues and greens display almost neon-like on iPhones and iPads. Probably because your PDF has (should have) CMYK colors and the screen is converting to RGB for viewing. I usually just include a note saying that the colors aren't true to what they should look like when printed.

If you Google there are several topics on Adobe and Apple's sites on this issue.. the only other solution would be to download a PDF viewing app and see if the colors come out better.

I always have this annoying problem--wish I knew a way to have it look good on iDevices, email attachments, and printed on a normal office printer because I'm tired of hearing complaints about how my colors look bad.

Strange thing recently though is that while colors still looked really "off" on my iPhone 5, recently some have looked OK on my iPad air even though the iPhone still displayed them incorrectly. Haven't spent much time to figure out what's different, but it gives me hope.

This is definitely because the PDFs are in CMYK mode. You can save it in RGB mode in Photoshop and then send them that version and the colors will display properly. Hope that helps!

Had this exact problem. Do what others have said, watch out for the CYMK and RGB conversions.
