All are currently at the same level.
Depends on the license depends on the current segment. Be off-set printing, you have rotating, packaging, or bureau output. PDF Workflow are very similar. I currently use Trueflow and Kodak Prinergy. Pre-flight is now required. One of the best proof systems "Star Proof."

For me, user of Esko flows (AE10) in the packaging, the best solution don't exist. Esko don't uses native PDF and you need a lot of different softwares to finalize your files. Kodak is a good solution with a lot of plugin for Acrobat Pro that becomes your main editor. But it's true that Esko keep the leading with the speed and the ease of creating flows. Maybe a mix of two will be interesting (Both very expensive)

    My ten cents.

Please be so nice and tell me what do You mean by writing "a lot of different softwares to finalize your files"?

For full file finalization you need :
    1. Ai (creating a file)
    2. ArtPro (for advanced jobs with more than 2 rullings/screens in one separation)
    3. NexusRIP

Maybe it is not a cheapest soft in the market but IMO it's best for flexo for sure.

In my company I use AE, WebCenter, ArtPro, full DeskPack, Nexus, DotSpy
    Sorry 4 my english :)

Pitstop and Acrobat Pro 9/10 have a powerfull preflight.
Prinergy workflow also not bad, but there is a problem with correct check of total ink limit.

We here have a lot of offset work, we are using Xitron navigator, we like it because it is simple and easy to view files, kodak people tried to sell us the prinergy, I personally like it in some ways, but the thing I didnt like it, where.

    - Using VPS i hated that application, it is a process that for me is unnecesary, it would be perfect if I can view my tiff out files before printing. (because we use different dpi per client and changed it everytime was really annoying.

    - also the workflow window was a mess, I never new when a job was done.

and other things that I dont remember.

    Esko rocks

Esko is the best in my opinion.
They are continuously doing research and coming up with new innovative products.
They tools and software is relevant to the needs and solutions provided are for our day to day problems.

I know Founders PaSharp is also around but not as powerful as Esko. maybe in the near future they will improve.

Wish more software manufacturers can be proactive as them and create a bit of competition as their pricing is through the roof.
