Yes, Prinect is oriented to a big size company that demands tons of jobs and requires serve multiple users efficiently. Enfocus is a powerful and cheaper alternative for small prepress agencies or freelancers, you don't need to invest in a bulky system

Best for what? The concept of "best" is highly dependent on in which the workflow will run this preflight.

I've been using PitStop Server in conjunction with Esko Backstage.

Confused by what? Do you mean to work today? I guess we're talking about commercial printing jobs.

Of course comercial jobs. Its not hard to work with software, its hard to choose one workflow solution that could fit all my needs. esspecialy in small printshops, like the one i work for. There is flatwork, booklets, magazines, labels(the most painfull question - gangruns, difficult multilayered printing, die cuting-embosing-foiling blocks), packaging.
Every workflow has advanatges in some or more aspects, and at the time disadvanages in other. And the most anoying is that there are peeeps in administration who thinks that repro guys are good enough to do everthing with their bare hands - i mean - they have copies of Corel and Illustrator

Well I think a good program to do all that you say as cards, magazines, boxes, etc.. the Signastation of Heidelberg. One of the most versatile enforcement programs I've seen.
