THIS IS NOT "FULL SOFTWARE"'s question !
I think you can find more usefull section on printroot.

There is "General Discussions" for example.

Why a complete workflow only for Preflight? Acrobat has a superb Preflight-Engine integrated. It fits for 99% of all jobs worldwide. And the best is, it can fix and convert many things, too. Give it a try.

Perhaps a Pitstop additional and that's it.

    Best regards

imho, the best workflow is fujifilm's celebrant or xmf workflows. It's not complicated and very quick in work and riping.

    Hello

Most modern workflows has the same preflight options and the option to use Pitstop preflight and actions from within the workflow. It is in other areas the different workflows has pros and cons. Havent tried the new version of Trueflow but the old one is way way behind Heidelberg, Kodak and Esko. If I could choose I would go for Kodak Prinergy.

The celebrant & xmf has a very wide preflight functionality. But they doesn't included in basic package (i don't know others), it's selling with separate license.

For PDF preflight you only need Acrobat, Pitstop and/or Heidelberg PDF Toolbox.
Workflow software like Prinect is resources hungry, requires dedicated server. Choose it, if you need also imposition and RIP. Then Heidelberg Prinect is good solution.

    1. Quark - Adobe CS xx - Corel or other programm (see pass4press.com for good pdf file)
    2. Acrobat ver 9.xx with Pitstop.
    3. The Preps 5.3.3 or Preps 6.1
    4. EFI colorproof xf for hard proof for the printer
    4. The Rip programm of the machine for CTF or CTP (Density the film or the plate)
And you have the best results on your job
