In my opinion with Adobe's InDesign or Acrobat Pro you have the most options to create PDFs.

Depends on your workflow and why you want to create a pdf.

I usually layout in Indesign and produce a pdf for printing. Preflight in Acrobat. But sometimes I want a website or eMail as an PDF, the I use the print function and print to a pdf. (I use adobe pdf print option but had good success with freePdf and others)

You can just use Word if you have the latest version. If you are on a MAC you can then just use preview to make small quality changes.

Best results: Use export to Pdf function of each software as it will generally get the most accurate results (eg. Corel Draw ..X6)

Most versatile: Adobe Distiller (Adobe invented PDF, it stands to reason they know it best)

Best value for the my: well, anything free that uses Ghost Script (I use CutePDF but i'm sure the other suggestions here are better)

Latest version of Acrobat Pro. Embedded in windows and can create a pdf from any application you can print. Also allows easy minor edits.

Hello, I use Distiller, most of the time I make the program I use PDF, InDesign, Illustrator. In the case of Photoshop, I give a place the image in InDesign and create from there. Thanks!
