    Apogee 5 question

Hi there, can any perhaps tell me if the Epson Stylus Pro 4900 can be supported in apogeex 5? I know it can be supported in the later versions, but not sure if those resources are compatible with version 5.

    Hello Cherry,

Version 5 long time ago, but I donĀ“t think so.
Perhaps x800 and x880 Epson will run, but this drivers you cannot use for the x900 Epsons.
Workaround would be to write out as a PDF e.g. with the PDF Proofer TP and load in e.g. in EFI Proofsoftware this will run.
Since Apogee Version 7 you can use the x900 Epson directly.
    Hope this will help you
    Kind Regards

This does help alot, thank you for your quick reply.
I see in the apogee7 there are update resources for the new 7900 and 9900,but I didnt see any for the 4900, even though they mention that the 4900 is now included, so Im not even sure if the 4900 is supported yet in the new apogee8.
I was hoping to just take the update resources and add it to apogee 5, but Im not sure of the consequences.

    Hello Cherri,
I had a look into the installer of the Apogee Version 8 and the 10P Epson4900 is now included in the Maininstaller
You can also use 7900 because the printhead is the same but the Mediasize is bigger than 4900.
    Hope this will help you
    Kind Regards
    MrApogee

You can use the 4900 with the apogee 7 SP1, but you need the "AdditionalCompnts7.0.0" installer.

Included devices: Epson-4900, Epson-7890, Epson-9890, ECRM, Avalon N8-60-S, Avalon N8-60-XT and Avalon N8-80-XT, AvalonAM and AvalonAT
