    It is important to know what APPE version is using, APPE v1.0 have issues with tranparencies using Spot colors, it was resolved with APPE v2.0

    I use PDF print engine and use Fuji XMF Workflow 3 and 2700 jobs have not had any problems. Previously used Celebrant. The best change in my life.

    Beware of overprint in jobs created with CS2, 3,4,5 to setup Correctly the RIP. Have a button to RIP PDF made with the adobe creative suite.

    Hi.

    Hi.
    Celebrant = CPSI Rip
    Fuji XMF 1.x = APPE1
    Fuji XMF 2.x/3.x= APPE2

    I use harlequin rip 8.1 and preps 6.1. I have some issues when imposing pdfx4 with spot color. It's not displaying properly in acrobat.

    Best regards
    I use Agfa Apogee V6. It has a native module PDF Render. No problems with transparency or pantone colors. The control strips must be PDF.

    Hi! I RIPing in Metadimension 6.5.
    I use PDF print engine in most all cases.
    I write PDF files from CorelDraw, InDesign, Illustrator, QuarkXpress without convert through Distiller. I choose settings "native color" for correct interpretation in case CorelDraw X4-X5 for effect drop shadow and transparency in PDF export.
    Layers, most effects, transparency - all pass through RIP without errors and wrong interpretation.

    We have Agfa Apogeex 7.0.
    My experience with Adobe PDF Print Engine is that it's unable to process exported Coreldraw pdf files.
    But in other cases I think it's much more reliable than a CPSI Rip.

    APPE 2.0 eliminates most of unexpected interpretation of the ripping process. With regards to the advantages of processing layered PDF, I only see the benefit if someone is doing late revisions on the ready to output flats.
