GRACoL 7 specifies seven paper grades, of which some are numbered (#1, #2, #3 and #5 - notice: no #4).

I guess these days v4 is widely implemented - so v4 would be much wiser choice

? any rules that prohibit me from answering the question ? what #5#6#8#9 have to with what I think ? or you trying over-police the forum ?

and I repeat my own opinion that v4 profiles have pretty much been implemented across the board - I personally use them with several rips I use - NO ISSUES! - Colorgate v7 included

v4 profile are better than v2 in several key areas such as: better definition of white and black points, better definition of perceptual intent, profiles can smaller but produce better colors, more consistent icc workflow, improved support for color transform
and of course it all depends on how well v4 specs are implemented and what kind of math is used to generated them - but since you use Colorgate and if it v7 I assume you are set - I found that Production module works perfectly fine with latest v4.2 ICCs

I was just wondering if there is any real-world experience behind your statement, since it was very short. sorry if i offended you in any way - it wasn't my intention.

As far as I know, currently only a few applications support v4 icc profiles, as most applications generally support v2 icc profiles. But I am not under impression that V4 icc profiles is far ahead than v2 profiles. It is basically my own experience only.

The new Altona Technical v2.0 adresses issues that can come into game when using v4 Profiles. Patch Block "P"

As there are many different opinions - maybe a short list of what software supports what version (v2 and/or V4) would help?
