I've been using ProfileMaker Pro for at least 3+ years on XP x64 & then Vista/Win7 x64 & never had any probs whatsoever with either my i1Display2 or i1Pro. But I wouldn't exactly say it's a simple app to use but if you stick to the defaults, really, just about any app is super simple because the majority just ask you to do something like measure or attach i1 & then click next.

Usually the only time something gets any more difficult than clicking next is when trying to figure out advanced options or trying something out of the ordinary. But if you stick to the apps mentioned above you should have no problems.

X-Rite is a monopolist in this area...

    GretagMachbeth ProfileMaker (now X-Rite),
    Monaco Profiler Platinum (X-Rite),
    Pulse ColorElite (X-Rite).

Adobe also has a monopoly and nothing happens.

    Red face profile maker

color management is not a job that is a simple calculation. This is why this software is very expensive. what is the easiest to understand, but I can say to the user profile maker

For monitor try Lacie BlueEye. For Printer proofing try GM(Xrite) Profile Maker Pro, or Heidel Print Open.
