    ONYX Profiles

I heard one could create a color profile for ONYX using ONYX. Would that be possible if I had a color metrics device in my hand? Say an X-Rite unit?

I'm having huge trouble making decent color on my 6-colored JETi 3312 and the ONYX Printer & Profile download manager has nothing to offer for it.

P.S. If you could share some .OML profiles I could test out would be great!

    Onyx Profiling

I never use Onyx Profiling Engine. Calibration and Ink limits in Onyx works. But profiling is not good. You should try basicolor Profiling engine. You can test it for free 14 days. The result should be much better. Use black start at 10 Percent, GCR mid. It isfor Jeti.
To measure your testchart you should use x-rite colorport; it is also free.

Thanks for the info - I'll see if I can get anything done with this... first of all I need to figure out where to get an X-Rite unit... they don't sell these here.

I am still open to suggestions though :P

P.S. I am currently using original HL2 ink so I'm guessing profiles from others SHOULD work properly. Please do share OML profiles if you have any.

Onyx profiling engine is not good at all. Not easy to use if it's version 7, x10 and later is better. If you can use ColorGATE, then much easier for you to profiling.

I double that. Onyx makes very good profiles provided that you work a bit with it and understand the way it works.

I tried the Onyx Profile maker. It seems like a long process. X Rite has a tut. I think its $39.00 to see it. Any have a copy?

Well, it seems that common misconception is not software but who is building a profiles and by which standards and what is your goal at the end.

Welcome. I am servicer plotters exclusive Muton, but also Roland, Mimaki, Jetrix, Agfa. I worked on many ripach such as Wasatch, VersaWork, EFI, PosterJet, PhotoPrint, Onyx, Caldera. And the best profiles on the Onyx and Caldera. Because the limits of ink doing it yourself fixes at the curve in the other no longer. Then you have to use X-Rite eXact or special software which can be obtained from Nazdar if you have an exclusive with them. I'm using the application, X-Rite eXact went accounts and no Rip-and whose not do a good profile.
