    Hi,

Delta E is a unit that describes the difference between two colors.
So in order to calculate it, you also need a reference profile.
So you could measure the display before calibration, then measure it after calibration and compare both.

But what are you trying to achieve?

I guess that Oris Certified Monitor may help you with the problem, you can get Delta E1 by measuring before your calibration and Delta E2 after your calibration. U can do some comparing and evaluate the improvement of calibration.thank u~

First of all, by definition deltaE is NOT the difference between ideal colours and those displayed on-screen as stated in the article you linked above.
It's just a unit that measures the colormetric difference between two colors.

So you need a reference to compare your measurements to.
This could be a color space like sRGB/AdobeRGB or you could measure the display in it's uncalibrated/unprofiled state and compare the results to the the measurements after calibration and profiling.

BabelColor's PatchTool is a great piece of software for such comparisons.

Blue eye pro is the best with the pdf test reports. Also try HCFR for some more hands on results and charts. You can take single measurements as you mess around with your calibration - to find the lowest possible dE. Unfortunately HCFR doesnt have CIE94 at least not the version I have used. The project was recently taken over by a new programmer.
