How to create a multicolor (7 colors) with profile maker ?

I am printing with a canon IPF 6100 and would like to create a multicolorprofile to use best RVB colors which are included.
does anyone know how to do this or does anyone have a better idea to optimize the profiles ?

thanks for your help

Multicolor!

If you print only on IPF 6100 you do not need multicolor profile!
Multicolor profiles use in offset/flexo/gravure - where it is more print sections to use specific colors (not only CMYK).

Tell me why do you want multicilir profile fo plotter?!

Dear Lephot,

Since you have the IPF6100, its will be coming with CMYKRGB, if you would like to fully utilizing the 7 colors mode, you need a ProfileMaker 5 to do that.

Download the links below.
http://www.printroot.com/forum/f21/gretagmacbeth-profilemaker-professional-5-0-10-win7-32-64-compatible-1230/

1. Use the MeasureTools, generating the 7 color charts.
2. Print this TestCharts via your printer.
3. Again use Measure Tools to read it, then using Profile Maker to create a MultiChannel ICC profile.
4. If you have a rip that able to support this MultiChannel Profile, then you have fully utlize this profile.

Have funs..

i was wondering too.

i have the EFI FX 4.1 on an epson 2200 and it said something about multicolor but i can figure it out. most of the time i print, the pictures come out a bit to contrasty and dark like its using either too much ink or using mainly black as opposed to light black. i dont know how to make it work.

u can only use multicolor profile with a RIP that actually supports that.
otherwise the printer uses RGB profiles!

and its a pain in the A to do the multicolor stuff

this is the truth--

there is no reason to use a multicolor profile unless you have very specific needs-- RGB and CMYK profiles will still make use of the full ability of your 7 color printer-- the extra colors just widen the gamut, its not as if when you print something normally it uses ONLY RGB or ONLY CMYK-- the printer simply maps out the colors you are trying to print to full gamut of the printer-- making a linearization can help control gradients on the other hand, but you're really getting in way too deep if all you want is a good looking profile.

new thread... or continuing this one i got stuck creating a 7-color profile at the following point.

with profile maker you can decide how many patches you would like for a target.

as i have a DTP 20 i have to use colorport to print them...

usually it works.. BUT not with multicolor... i cant import the .txt file from profilemaker.

xRite confirmed it was a bug. does anybody here have the ability here to find out if this can be solved??.. it works flawless for RGB and CMYK targets.. and i def. need more specially around the gray axis IF i wanna build a multicolor profile with monaco or profilemaker. thnx

hi

try this:
http://www.xrite.com/product_overview.aspx?ID=1397&Action=support&Suppo rtID=5465

or you could use PatchTool from Babelcolor to standardize the reference file

cheers

PM and dtp20... the only way is thru colorport....
But I made good profile for IPF using Monaco with PM and even i1 it wasn't easy and the result wasn't as much good as wanted...
Anyway, all EFI for all IPFs are made as a RGB I did like that and it worked nicely in EFI
