    Epson Stylus Photo R2880 Inkjet for proofing

    is possible to run a Epson Stylus Photo R2880 Inkjet for proofing a offset press ?

    This printer has only A3+ sheet size. It makes 1:1 scale proofing impossible. You should better pay attention to 24-inch plotters like Epson SureColor T3000.

    the offset presses that i have in mind are little s. mainly used for letter prints size. so i don't need a printer so big

    For small proofs it looks pretty well. But you should try it first to be sure that printing resolution would be enough for offset raster.

    While proofing, sqare raster of plotter overlays on offset raster, which has different angles for each paint. So, output image contains only points that are overlayed on both rasters. The better resolution of plotter you have, the smaller parts of image you will see and the output image will be more accurate.
