    Epson 7900 Ink question

I was changing out my yellow ink cartridge this morning in our 7900 proofer and didn't realize that the ink has an expiration date of 08/12 on it.

Apparently, the chip that is on the cartridge has some kind of code to let the printer know that the ink is expired.

Does anyone have a work around for this? Or will the output color be so adversely effected by a month and a half expired ink that I should worry.

    Thanks in advance.

hi, there is no chip detection of the expiration date, normally you can use (moderatelly) outdated cartriges without any problems. It may be that the chip is faulty (happened to me twice with brand new cartriges), in this case contact epson for replacement.
