It's a bit confusing but simple.
Create a new device for your printer
    Create linearization
    Create media profile
    Optimize media profile

Actually after you start the linearization process it will guide you through all of the other steps.

You will have a choice as to Proofing or Print/Production when you start the linearization process.

Ok, but I'm a bit confuse...I try to ask you all steps..

I have the version 3.1.8 , the proof printer is an Epson 4880 with the EFI Gravure 4245 Matte paper.

So, when I select the device on System Manager, I can select the "normal" or "contone" printer: what is the difference?

The tool for the linearization and color profiles is LinTool. I see in the linearization process that there are many settings: what are the suggested settings?

    Thx in advance

you mean halftone and contone... HT driver use EFI screen (error diffusion or stochastic) and EFI drivers, the CT driver use the printers driver... our EFI seller told me that CT driver is much easier than HT...

We are using EFI 4.0 and EFI Offset 9200SM paper.

Ok, so the Halftone driver is the better choice? I think that the EFI driver is more performant that the original driver...is it correct?

    It is not complex

    It is not complex:
    - create a new device for printer,
    - make linearization,
    - create media profile,
    - optimize media profile.

    Which one is better?

How would you compare EFI Colorproof with Founder EagleProof in terms of
color accuracy and ease of use? Does anyone here have experience on both?
