    in theory

in theory efi should perform fast riping speed.
new version use one core for one ink channel
if you have 12 core mac you can rip 3 CMYK jobs at once
    i did not try ...

Efi 4 really strongly raises speed riping.
Tried on 4 and 8 core processors.

Colorproof XF v4.5 can RIP up to 4 files at one time using the Adobe PS engine. In order to do this you must have 4 processors and 4GB RAM. EFI will not use more than 1GB RAM per processor because each CPSI controller (EFI has 4) uses 1GB RAM per processor. And since you can only get 4GB+ RAM with a 64-bit OS is required to achieve this. The Adobe PDF Print engine side of EFI will only process 1 file at a time.

1-bit files require fast Xeon processors if you want any kind of speed. If you're only processing a few 1-bit tiff files a day it really doesn't matter. Sure it takes a while, but once 1 file begins to print the second file may be done ripping before the 1st one is completely printed depending on the print sizes.

I believe that EFI doesn't use neither Adobe CPSI nor APPE engines to rasterize 1-bit files. So it's really the question of number processor cores and processor speed. And as I remember, EFI cannot load all cores at 100%.
PS: Usually EFI waist long time to rotate 1-bit files because they are so large and it necessary to unpack it and to write to disc. So it's necessary to put already rotated files to EFI.

efi use adobe cpsi and/or APPE 2.0 only for ps/eps pdf files

all other files are processed internally
efi use one core per channel and nvidia gpu for vutek screen 2

according cpu usage, why cpu usage never reach 100%?
maybe (i think) communication between cpu an memory is weak link
you move 100 mb of data from disk to cpu and back. .... i don't know ...
i will try to make some benchmark ..
