    Black and White profile

    Hello,

I would like to know if it's possible to make a ICC profile for a only BW printer.
I own a Canon Pixma Pro-1 with 5 BW inks. This printer have a BW only mode.
I would like to linearize the output.
With PS and a curve is it possible but it's not very convenient and you have a limited number of points on the curve.

    Thank you for your help.

    I have found a solution

I reply to my question for other.

QTR is a "free" RIP software with an ICC BW profiling software.
So I make a BW grayscale with ColorPort and drop the measures on this software.
I optain an ICC BW and an ICC RGB but BW profile.
The second is for software who doesn't deal with BW profiles.
    It's perfect.

    Thanks to QTR

Any profilling software can make this.
The "linearisation" is the first step, not so precise.
The profile is much more precise, the testchart can be custom-made.
If you need very deep blacks (for screen film-making) it can be interesting to use a RIP as the ink limit is quite low with standard drivers
