better RIP then EFI ? dynamic wedge..?

i love the feature of efi s dynamic wedge. to be able to read colorpatches that are actually in the print and then optimize them

BUT.. EFIs bugs tear up my nerves! now the optimization isnt working anymore. all of a sudden.. it always prints the same wedge and keeps the old measurements! and the colors shifted. and i cant optimize the lin either.. bababa

is there an alternative RIP?.. i know there is colorgate and onyx.. but has anything a dynamic wedge thing, too .. to be certain, that actually the colors of the print are correct and not of some stupid fogra wedge?

    thnx

i used to have this problem, and had to manually move hidden files into the right places-- seems to be fixed now in 4.5, (or 4.5.2, whatever) try updating. Also using something like CCleaner or avg pc tuneup to clean up the registry seems to help sometimes

also make sure that you make an alias, or in some way have access to the hidden EFI folder located at C:\documents and settings\all users\application data\efi -- a lot of temporary data goes here, and inspecting the changes here can be the key to figuring out what is going wrong

This is a bit unrelated but since I know you guys are using them I figured I'd throw it out anyway.

    1) What types of printers are you running these dynamic wedges on?
    2) Are the measurements in-line or do you spot check?
    3) If in-line, can you default to a standard wedge?

    dynamic printer

    1. you can use it dynamic printer with any printer
    2. in line or spot?
i have not chance to try this on NEW epson printer,
but i can measure it with i1 in scan mode
    3. you have possibilities to include Fogra MW and dynamic wedge together
and with color verifier to check both.
if you like measure fogra first , you are not satisfied then measure DW, optimize and print again.

even measure fogra , optimize , and print again with lover dE
