Sorry, never try: i'm interested only to n-colors profilers.

I have used onyx and its media manger. But you have to make sure that your rip supports the color device you are trying to use.

    ICC Profile Making Software

A Place I worked before used Profile Maker 5. They were able to get pretty good results, they had an Xrite i1iO, and also a Gretag Spectrolino, using either device they still got great results.

So.. I would recommend Profile Maker 5, I think the Xrite i1iO, created the best results when paired with Profile Maker.

    Hope this helps.

    Good Luck.

I use Gretagmacbeth ProfileMaker for creation of ICC profiles. I think it is best complex solution.

I used iprint. I don't use now. You can't create profile in iprint. You have to use monaco profiler.
Now I'm using onyx rip that included profile maker.

    My vote for i1Profiler too!

Just to check, I measured patches and exported them to Argyll (CGATS) and used colprof to create an ICC profile. TBH the profile made by i1Profiler looked better (and a bigger gamut too) than the one created by Argyll, despite tweaking/playing with parameters... Used to work with spyder3print, but was really annoyed by the purple tinting it introduced, definitely ruins a good print!

For hardware: if you can get your hands on an X-Rite DTP70 (discontinued), life will be easy. It is still the fastest automatic reader, and proven to be more accurate specially in very light areas. Unfortunately it is tough to find anybody that wants to let them go.

Profilemaker for monitors is too big, complicated and expensive. Better basICColor display
