    Monaco Profiler Platinum with Spectrocam

I get superb printing profiles (that is to say, in conjunction with my Eizo CG221 and Epson Stylus Pro 4880) using Monaco Profiler and an old (but excellent) Spectrocam.

I get WYSIWYG - what everyone wants, right?

My solution to the problem of Monaco Profiler Platinum 4.8.3 crack not being available was to make a ThinApp portable program of v4.8, and thus obtain a perfect working version on Windows 7 64-bit - (the 4.8.3 update added no new functionality at all, just Win7 64-bit compatibility).

I also "ThinApped" the spectrocam software which also works perfectly.

I know, that all the official printing-profiles in Europe were created with Heidelberg Printopen, that is now Heidelberg ColorToolbox. Very good quality is from Basiccolor, also known as ColorSolutions. These two are not so bad.

    Best regards
Totally agree, Color Toolbox is the best, a cheaper option is the i1 Profiler but you can't combine measures to average measurements, I think that could be fixed very soon in a new upgrade

i did better results with ProfileMaker 5 than with the intern tool of EFI XF Colorproof.
For me PM5 is the best.

Not sure what crack you've tried but I've been using the same patch file to crack MonacoPROFILER Platinum 4.8.0 for at least 4 years, first with XP x64, then Vista x64 & now Win7 x64 & all 32bit OS's also without any problems ever.

I prefer ProfileMaker 5. Not easy to learn, but good results with it.

Fuji color's Color Kit is pretty good.

ProfileMaker's printer RGB profile has a so-so gamut and muddy perceptual render intent. MonacoProfiler is better at perceptual but relative intent isn't that good neither.
Barbieri's own Xpert software worths a look though.

Difference are mainly about options that available to create your ICC profile. More you pay, more options are available (GCR, edition, different illuminant, smoothness, etc.)

Also, some are difficult to get (e.g. ColorTool, sold with an Heidelberg system (usually a press)

Gamut mapping algorithms differ especially concerning out-gamut colors and Perceptual table.

One of the most important condition are your characterization data... indeed, so many people focus only to the software are think because they have a ColorToolbox, everything is good.

    Hope that helps.

I was using several programs for proofer profiling in my career. Starting with ProfileMaker 3...

I have tested them since i need good results, fast. I'm always checking the profiles according to ISO12647-7 on an IT8.7-4 chart. In this respect i1Profiler is the clear winner for me against ArgyllCMS (2nd), EFI Colorproof Profiler (3rd), ColorToolbox (4th) and ProfileMaker 5.0.10 (5th). But if your device is unstable you should print, measure and average several testcharts. Unfortunately i1Profiler can't average (!!!) ...

    Best icc solution

we use Monaco Profiler. I think its better than profile maker because
you can control more of the black settings.
