please define "best" a little more specifiic. Price is equal? Only best quality or maximal functions? What ICC-profiles should be created? Only RGB for Monitor, Scanner or CMYK, too? Multicolor-profiles, DeviceLink-profiles? Question about questions.

A good source for more info is this: http://www.color.org/profilingtools.xalter

I know, that all the official printing-profiles in Europe were created with Heidelberg Printopen, that is now Heidelberg ColorToolbox. Very good quality is from Basiccolor, also known as ColorSolutions. These two are not so bad.

Best regards

Good luck to you my friend. No, serious, Laserprinters aren't able to produce colorconsistent results. You can create a profile for your device but Lasers are not so stable as Inkjets. The evironment of temperature, huminity and so on are against a good printing quality. Remember if you create a profile you will define a "screenshot" of your environment. And after that every single print must be produced under the same circumstances to reproduce the parameters inside your individual profile. That's only possible with Inkjets because they are able to linearization first to define a stable printingcondition and than in the second step create a profile.

In my opinion the only way is the combination of a OKI-Laserprinter with an option of the EFI Colorproof. Both together can create a near-proof quality but not more.

Best regards

do not try to play a 100% offset ...... try to get as close as possible!

if there are software proofing there is a reason, especially since there are a best of all
exist. I would only know which is best achieved by performing ICC profiles available.

that is better then an inkjet printer to a laser printer is another matter altogether;) at the end all
use the devices I use icc and that seeking a professional software that I create an ICC profile
performance possible (which is not the same as the offset even 100% 70 80 90%;))

perhaps the language prevents me from expressing myself correctly. sorry: (I do not speak Italian corrttamente
English

hi peopleV3,

What exact laser printer model do u intend to characterize ? Kitaro is right, you will very unlikely be able to do any kind of serious proofing with an average laser. ICC management tools aren't a guarantee of any kind ! You could as well buy a gold detector without ever findind a single nugget You can build an icc profile for ur printer with a fair bunch of appz, just pick the one you can afford or feel comfy with - like Profilemaker or Monaco profiler which have a nice learning curve and are quite accurate.. but getting from such a printer the means for a reliable offset proofing is another story unless u have a high end laser copier (kyocera or canon do some nice ones) PPD driven and using embedded ICC management module! and not every inkjet would either allow you to have a usuable approximation of any offset device gammut.

Smile problem with pragram for slovent

I have a plotter-Mimaci JV33 Series 160bs, and I use RasterLink Pro 5 Sg. My supplier we provide ICC profiles for some materials, but for some materials are not able to provide because we do not have a dongle. One time I used efi that I borrowed from friends, but I had to return the dongle. I was very pleased with how the EFI software products vorks real proof. But since I returned it impossible not to create a color profile for BS2 colors. Is there who recommend where to get software products to support the BS 2 colors. that will work without the dongle and is free.My supplier to say that there Onyx postershop V7.... or Onyx Productionhouse V7.....
I fund demo version of Onyx Postershop V7.03 and I downloaded but no crackc included.
Is there someone who perhaps has a crack to share.
Thanks in advance. My English is bad so if there are errors Sorry

If I am not mistaken, Epson 1900 is one of affordable for CMYK proofing, but required linearisation itself.
