Hello all, not sure if you want a PC or Mac but for a PC there is PrintFab 2, and you can google it and till end of the year it's free, it's a beta but a very late beta...

    FYI

    Qtr

QTR is the best free (donate) RIP software.
I use it for BW printing with my Epson Printer and my own ink set.

    http://www.quadtrip.com/html/QTRoverview.html

You can also generate BW profile.

QTR is a great BW RIP and for $50 cheap! I will support most Epson printers, the newest are a little weird but work as Epson won't give out the head codes unless you support only Epson media and ink!

But Roy (the main person behind QTR) did a weird work around and work nice as it's ONLY a Black White output RIP.

FYI if you have a Canon printer there is a BW RIP called True Black and White. Not free or shareware but just for Canon printers..

    RIP Canon

True Black and White BowHaus is only for large format Canon Printer. Not for Pixma Pro 1 for exemple.

I have a Pixma Pro 1 actually and I search a BW rip for this printer.

Hi tatayoyo, call Bohaws and talk to them, if they get many people they may write a driver or maybe they can tell you how to get it to work?

Calling is much better than e-mailing as I waited months for a reply to email, so I just called them.

If somebody has this RIP I would split the cost with some!

    Sdp-rip

SDP-RIP is for Mitsubishi and Harlequin, the father, seems to be not for the Canon nor the TIFF-RIP.

    I 'll write to BowHaus.

Argyll is a very powerful color software but I think also hard as it's not as simple as i1 profiler, but there is help called front ends like the below, and for free is better than or I should say more accrate than i1!

    http://www.digifab.com/ArgyllCMSGUI/ArgyllGUIDoc.htm

    Good luck!
