    Preparing graphics for Esko Visualizer

Use spot colours on chosen parts of your graphic so you get different separations. The more spot colours you use the more separations you get and more objects are independently editable inside visualizer = applying operations (effects) to parts of graphic.

If you use AI, some libraries (ECKART Finishes, Visualizer Standard Finishes) are available inside the app. Effects applied inside AI are recognized in Visualizer.

If you use PE, Visualizer Standard Finishes are available in Color Factory box.

In fact, any spot color works fine cause most adjustments are made inside Visualizer.

I may add, fore some big files export to Visualizer is not working.
I use save to pdf (with Illustrator defaults) and open it in Visualizer. All spots, overprints etc. are exports fine.
    Hope it helps for someone.
