Packaging Tech Tip - resizing bottom panel / auto bottom

Adjusting bottom panel to requested size - box with semi auto/auto bottom

    1. Start with 2d design and select which of side panels of bottom parts that overlap when box is folded will be fixed (most right or left, not in the middle)

    2. Select all bottom parts except of fixed (it means fixed is 1 st, the next to it is 2 nd, etc.)

    3. Rotate 3 selected panels 90 degree to bottom side with pivot point set on the connection point (crease end) of fixed and 2 nd panel.

    4. Repeat step 3 for 2 selected panels ( 3 rd and 4 th) with pivot on connection point of 2 nd and 3 rd , then for last panel ( 4th) with pivot set on connection 3 rd and 4th

    5. Rectangle will be formed - bottom panel folded shown flat in 2d

    6. Create new rectangle with dimension you requested - it will be you guide line / reference shape

    7. Position both rectangles so they overlap and share corner point.

    8. Stretch verticaly or/and horizontally you first rectangle until you fit the exact size of reference shape.

If you use numbers in your app. (numeric input) you don`t go steps 6-8 !!! Just select your folded rectangle and enter new width and height.

    9. Repeat steps 3-4 the other way round so you unfold your bottom panel.

No need to use standards (artios, engview, etc.) and play with parameters.

Hope this will help some of you.
